BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS - Hammersmith Odeon, London - June 1976 (Flac)

The Rastaman Vibration tour took place on a much larger scale than the previous year. The group played in halls and theatres and a top ten album placing reflected the growing popularity of the group.

Another line-up change saw Donald Kinsey and Earl 'Chinna' Smith on lead guitars replace Al Anderson. They contributed to a live sound that was more laid back with a greater rhythmic groove. Marcia Griffiths returned to the I-Threes, joining the largest touring group so far.

Like the previous US tour, the early dates again covered the North Eastern states of the USA with a visit across the border to Canada. From Minneapolis on 13 May, 1976 the tour continued into new territory with dates in Missouri, Texas and Colorado before finishing in the golden state of California. Six days later they began their first real tour of Europe.

These recordings are from the Hammersmith Odeon residency, there is no further information on which tracks were played on which date between the 15th and 18th of June.

Impressive sound quality on this recording, though there are some variances, possibly due to different shows. There are some abrupt endings and the recordings could be improved with a little work.

'Crazy Baldhead' and 'Bend Down Low' included here were performed infrequently on the tour.
